Silent Meditation Retreat

Lorne Estate Cultra

Thursday 29 March – Monday 2 April 2018

Treat yourself this spring to a long weekend of peace and relaxation. In the grand surroundings of Lorne Estate, 5 minutes walk from the beach, we’ll be guided in 4 daily meditation sessions by Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Chitta. These retreats can be life changing experiences, provoking deep shifts in our minds through contemplating and meditating on the Buddhist path to liberation and enlightenment.

Presented in a practical and simple manner these meditations on loving kindness, compassion and wisdom will offer you an insight into the potential of your mind and your life. Practiced by both Buddhist and non Buddhists they can help you to find peace of mind in retreat that can then be brought home into our busy daily lives.

Silence will be maintained for most of our time at Lorne, with the exception of Gen Chitta’s guidance in the sessions, and during the Thursday and Friday evenings and lunch on Monday. Questions can be written, and will be answered in the guidance during the following session.

The silence provides a deeply relaxing atmosphere, removing the distractions of conversation, enabling one to remain mindful during the breaks, and to walk peacefully in the grounds or on the beach or to relax in your room.

Gen Chitta has been a student of Tibetan Buddhist Master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for 15 years and has the ability to transmit this ancient wisdom with a contemporary style, making it relevant to busy modern people.

Accommodation is 4* and meals will be vegetarian ( and dairy free on request ).
