Intro to Tantra Meditation Retreat

Saturday 1st of April 2017    2 – 5pm     £15

Nowadays, Tantra is very popular, however, there is a lot of misunderstanding about the real meaning of this inspiring and highly practical inner training. In this workshop, which takes place at Potala on the 1st of April, we will discover how the basis for training in Tantra is realising that everyone has an extraordinary potential to live a life of great freedom and joy. In Tantric meditation, we find the perfect methods to access and fully actualise this inner potential.

Potala Centre’s resident teacher, Gen Kelsang Chitta, will explain how by learning how to experience increasingly subtle and deeply peaceful levels of mind in meditation we gain clear insight into the nature and potential of our mind, and the nature of reality. Through these insights we come to understand that we and others have the freedom to change, to become the truly loving, compassionate and wise person we would wish to be.

Tantra gives us an inspiring vision for ourself and others, of reaching our highest potential, the supreme and lasting inner peace & happiness of enlightenment, and shows us how to accomplish this swiftly.

The afternoon will entail two sessions which include guided meditations and talks with a break in between for refreshments.

Transforming Grief & Loss – Meditation Retreat Afternoon

Sat 25th Feb 2017       2 – 5pm        £15

Why do we feel so much grief when we are separated from those we care for? We know that the experience of loss is a universal one and that we all have, or will, experience the loss of someone or something dear to us.

This retreat will introduce methods that Buddha taught for transforming this loss into wisdom and how we can use the power of compassion to ease our our pain and heal our grief.

These methods will help us face all the events of life, including death, with grace and clarity.

The retreat will be guided by Buddhist Nun Gen Kelsang Chitta. Chitta has been a student of Buddhist Master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 14  years and is the Resident Teacher at Potala KBC. Chitta has been teaching and guiding retreats all over Northern Ireland and is known for her warmth and down to earth approach.

The retreat is suitable for all levels of experience. No special clothes are needed, just wear something comfortable as we sit on chairs. Books and meditation CDs are also available for purchase. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served during the break.
