Summer weekend meditation retreat on the Atlantic coastline
5pm Friday 7th June – 2pm Sunday 9th June 2019 – Guided by Gen Kelsang Chitta
In life everyone just wants to be happy, however sometimes in our relationships, employment and friendships things seem to go wrong and we can often lapse into a spiral of hurt, pain and regret. When happiness does arrive it’s often fleeting and leaves us in a cycle of pursuing happiness where permanent happiness doesn’t exist
In this retreat we’ll deeply explore the true nature of happiness and how we can develop habits to live with a peaceful heart and a contented mind, that will benefit our self and everyone we meet. With this inner peace outer peace will naturally arise
Corrymeela offers the perfect conditions to settle the mind, and to explore and develop getting back to the positive mind states that create long lasting happiness. Situated on the Atlantic Coast you will experience outstanding beauty with ocean views and ocean air, offering ideal conditions to develop an ocean of peace within the mind.
Each session will be guided by Buddhist Nun and Potala Kadampa Buddhist Centre’s Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Chitta. Chitta has been a student of Buddhist Master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 15 years and for last 8 years has been teaching and guiding retreats all over Northern Ireland. She is known for her warmth and down to earth approach in sharing these meditations.
There’ll be plenty of time between sessions to read, walk and relax, and the silence in the mornings will allow us the opportunity to reduce distractions and engage more fully with meditation and contemplation.
Accommodation is modern and comfortable, and meals vegan or vegetarian. It is possible to attend just the sessions if you don’t wish to avail of the accommodation.
