Take part in a relaxing and uplifting meditation retreat, suitable for complete beginners and experienced meditators alike.

Your Retreat Guide Ian McGlade will offer an Introductory talk and guided Meditation on Friday night. Saturday and Sunday offer 6 sessions, each including guided relaxation meditation, a talk and a contemplative transformative meditation.

You will be guided in a journey of inner transformation and awakening.

The theme of this retreat is one of connecting to our innate peace & sources of purpose and wisdom within. Because these sources of purpose & wisdom are often obscured by our mental business, distraction and anxieties, we will explore meditation methods for settling and quietening the mind. As well as meditations to grow our genuine enthusiasm for life through developing a sense of connection with everyone and everything.

Drawing upon age-old Buddha Dharma, specifically the teachings of Buddhist Master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, Ian, a qualified and experienced practitioner and teacher, will guide you through this uplifting journey with humour, humility and skill.

In the extraordinary setting of a 19th century manor house, with woodland and lakeside walks, Dromantine Estate offers deluxe ensuite accommodation, delicious vegetarian three course lunches, healthy breakfasts and suppers. In your breaks between sessions you are free to walk in the grounds or relax in your room or in the lake view lounges. The breakfast and morning break will be enjoyed in silence.

You can attend residentially to immerse yourself completely in the retreat and get away from it all, or just attend the sessions. Sessions are free to members.

The meditation room will be equipped with your choice of chairs or zafu and zabuton cushions. There is no physical activity in the sessions, just talks and seated guided meditations. There is no dress code but you may wish to wear something comfy.
