All our life we have been under the control of our mind like a puppet on a string. Whenever our mind wants to do something we have to do it without choice. If our mind tells us to get angry we get angry. If our mind becomes sad we are sad. The only way to attain real freedom is to reverse this situation and take control of our mind.
On this half day course we will learn how to gain mastery over our mind and therefore attain inner peace and happiness.
Your retreat guide, Ian McGlade, from Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist in Derry Londonderry, shares ancient Buddhist practices and meditations with humour and relatability
Everyone is welcome to attend this retreat. Each sessions will include guided breathing meditation, short Buddhist prayers, a talk and guided meditation practice.
No experience or special clothing is necessary, seating will be in your choice of chairs or meditation cushions.
It is your time to take a break from daily life and immerse in a really positive and uplifting experience.
The retreat venue is the community centre on the beautiful arranmore island. Just 20 minutes walk up from the harbour. The day leaves time to walk or drive over to the spectacular views of the cliffs of arranmore. The island is pervaded with a sense of serenity and awe.
