  • Session 4: 6pm – 7pm

This retreat gives us the opportunity to engage in the practice of Buddha Amitayus, which is a special method to increase our lifespan, our wisdom and our merit, or good fortune.

In the sadhana of this practice Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche explains that there is nothing more precious than our human life, it is our most important possession. Our human life gives us the opportunity to experience both temporary and ultimate happiness. We need a long life, if we lose this life we lose our opportunity to experience happiness now and to attain the permanent happiness of enlightenment through our pure Dharma practice.

Each session consists of chanted meditation in English and silent mantra recitations. You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.

The long life pills blessed in each session throughout the retreat will be distributed after the last session.

Your retreat guide Ian McGlade, shares the meditation techniques and practices he himself has found so transformative, in a down to earth, humorous and accessible way. With many years of practice and teaching experience you are in safe hands to help you begin, reinvigorate or continue your meditation journey.

Everyone is welcome. The retreat is suitable to those new to meditation as well as experienced practitioners. No special clothes are required and seating is provided in chairs and meditation cushions.
