Everyone, whether Buddhist or not, can benefit from the practices of modern Buddhism, which show how to develop peaceful minds and act in peaceful ways. These practices are very important for peace in the home, peace in society and peace in the world.
Buddha taught that peace in the world depends upon peace in the heart because it is not possible for people with unpeaceful minds to create a peaceful world. Peace in the heart, or inner peace, depends on meditation, which is a special method to pacify our unpeaceful and negative states of mind and replace them with peaceful, positive states of mind..
Tuesday nights are a relaxed class for all levels which include guided breathing meditation, a talk and a concluding guided meditation. Everyone is welcome, there’s no need to book, just drop in.
The facility fee is £6 per class, you can prepay for a discount, or get a monthly subscription with which you can attend as many classes as you like.
Monday nights include chanted prayers to prepare for the guided meditation, and a reading and commentary to the book New Heart of Wisdom by Buddhist Master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Call Chitta on 07597773096 to find out about this class.
