When life seems to be speeding up, distractions more and more numerous, the ‘to do’ list ever increasing, it’s hard to feel like you have any space in you mind. Space to think, to create, to relax, to look after yourself, to rest and exercise, to eat well and stay happy.
Life seems to overwhelm us, time seems short, happiness fleeting, and problems keep coming.
Although these seem like new problems, people have been dealing with these same feelings for centuries, but in these modern times in many societies we’ve lost touch with the simple practices we perhaps once used to ground and centre ourselves, to get a fresh perspective and to get space to think clearly, constructively and with wisdom.
Buddhist meditation and practice has been helping people to do just this for over two millennia, with countless people to this day using its techniques daily to centre, ground, and find a fresh perspective, to find authentic peace, joy and appreciation in the midst of the chaos of daily life.
Enjoy an afternoon of talks and meditations to help us heal our heart, to feel whole, to feel calm. Develop a mind as stable as a mountain and as calm as the depths of the ocean.
Offered by Potala Kadampa Buddhist Centre and their Principal Teacher Gen Kelsang Chitta. Gen Chitta, a Buddhist nun with 15 years experience of practice, will guide relaxation meditations and teach and guide meditation techniques with the power to bring about deep transformation in outlook and feeling.
