Sat 21st Aug 2026  |  10.30am – 1.30pm  |  £16  |  Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Centre, 11 Pump Street, Derry / Londonderry

In person and live online for members

Many people feel instinctively drawn to the idea that their mind shapes their experience – that changing the way you see yourself and the world could lead to something far deeper than ordinary self improvement. In the Buddhist tradition, Tantra is presented as a pure spiritual path to enlightenment, taught by Buddha Shakyamuni himself, which uses imagination, meditation, and wisdom to reveal the mind’s full enlightened potential and bring about the most profound inner transformation.

This introductory course explains the essential principles of Buddhist Tantra in a clear, grounded way, offering a framework for understanding what Tantra is and how it functions as a path to enlightenment. This understanding will help you decide whether to pursue Tantra further by receiving a Tantric empowerment, such as the Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment.

During retreat you will:

  • Gain a clear framework for understanding Buddhist Tantra as an authentic spiritual path
  • Meditate on the mind to observe its creative power
  • Experience a Sutra meditation that uses imagination to ripen your Buddha potential, offering a taste of tantric meditation’s qualities
  • Understand how Tantra is traditionally entered through empowerment and what the next steps involve

The teachings are presented in a clear and practical way, drawing on timeless wisdom for our busy modern lives.

  • Session One – Talk & Guided Meditation (1hr 15min)
  • Break (30min – with refreshments)
  • Session Two – Talk & Guided Meditation (1hr 15min)
