Summer Weekend Meditation Retreat with Kadampa Buddhist Nun Gen Chitta and Kadampa Buddhist Meditation Teacher Ian McGlade at Bru Moytura Retreat Centre, Corlisheen, Castlebaldwin, Co. Sligo
Friday 19th – Sunday 21st June, 2026
In person and live online for members
This retreat is held in the beautiful, inspiring and other worldly landscape of Co. Sligo.
There will be time to rest, meditate and reflect within the nature and light of mid summer.
The retreat teachings will be based methods to pacify and purify our mind by generating compassion. A special pure way of thinking grounded in love.
The main practice will be the Avalokiteshvara Sadhana. This sadhana or prayer booklet is very blessed.
Avalokiteshvara is an enlightened deity who is the manifestation of all Buddhas’ compassion.
By engaging in Avalokiteshvara practice we can gain many profound states of mind, including profound peace and the realisation of great compassion.
No experience is necessary to attend the retreat. The practice is not complicated. All it requires is imagination mixed with wisdom and faith.
Sessions will draw from the instructions in the Mirror of Dharma book by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and be guided by Buddhist Nun Gen Chitta and Kadampa Teacher Ian McGlade. Both Gen Chitta and Ian are experienced Dharma teachers, each sharing their experience and enthusiasm for these practices in their own unique way, making them accessible for the beginner, and taking the experienced practitioner to a deepening experience.
