Midsummer Weekend Meditation Retreat with Kadampa Buddhist Nun Gen Chitta and Kadampa Buddhist Meditation Teacher Ian McGlade at Bru Moytura Retreat Centre, Corlisheen, Castlebaldwin, Co. Sligo
Friday 19th – Sunday 21st June, 2026
In person and live online for members
Experience a deeply restorative midsummer retreat in the magical landscape of County Sligo, surrounded by ancient beauty, stillness, and light.
This retreat offers an opportunity to slow down, rest deeply, and reconnect with the peaceful and compassionate nature of the mind through meditation, reflection, and time in nature. Guided by Buddhist Nun Gen Chitta and Kadampa Teacher Ian McGlade, the teachings will focus on practical methods for developing compassion – a pure and transformative way of thinking grounded in wisdom and love.
The central practice of the retreat will be the Avalokiteshvara Sadhana, a blessed meditation and chanted prayer practice that helps us to embody compassion and wisdom. Through engaging in this practice, we can cultivate profound peace, inner strength, and the experience of universal compassion.
Held at the beautiful and historic Bru Moytura near Lough Arrow, the retreat setting itself supports quiet reflection and renewal. With guided meditation sessions, gentle walks, meaningful conversation, and nourishing surroundings, this retreat is open to everyone, whether completely new to meditation or wishing to deepen an existing practice.
