Painful emotions such as anxiety, sadness, anger, or overwhelm are a part of life—but they don’t have to take over our mind. In this How to Manage Painful Feelings Kadampa Afternoon Retreat, you’ll learn practical, meditation-based methods to respond to difficult emotions with clarity, calm, and kindness.

Through guided meditations and accessible Buddhist teachings, you’ll discover how to create space around painful feelings, reduce inner struggle, and develop a more balanced, peaceful mind. These simple techniques can be used in everyday life, helping you feel more resilient and emotionally steady.

Ian McGlade is an experienced Kadampa teacher who presents Buddhist teachings in a clear, practical, and relatable way. Drawing on many years of meditation practice, Ian helps people find realistic methods for working with modern challenges and developing inner peace in daily life.

A perfect opportunity to pause, reset, and learn tools you can use in daily life. Everyone welcome. No special clothing or equipment required. A selection of both chairs and meditations cushions will be available. Located just 10min walk from the Bus Station, and 3min walk from Bishop St car park, in the beautiful Garden of Reflection
