Start 2023 with a positive mind!

New Year is a symbol of possibility. We wish for change and hope our lives go in a better direction than before. For that to happen we need to connect with the potential that exists within our minds. The profound tools of transformation within Buddhist meditation gives us the ability to become the person we wish to be: more dynamic, confident, kinder, more loving, peaceful, and happier.

In this day retreat, Gen Kelsang Chitta will explore how we can all use Buddhist meditation to connect to profound dimensions within our mind. This connection gives us the ability to change at deep levels to become the person we wish to be.

This meditation course will kick start your year with peace and positivity. Discover your inner potential and learn how to use meditation to make yourself happy. Let go of negative feelings and embrace the positives. Improve your concentration and focus in daily life, be less stressed and irritable and learn how to develop a more positive outlook on life.

Gen Kelsang Chitta, having studied Buddhism since 2002 and ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2009, shares the meditation techniques and practices she herself has found so transformative, in a down to earth, humorous and accessible way.

With over a decade of teaching experience and the benefit of continuous study and teacher training you are in safe hands to help you begin, reinvigorate or continue your meditation journey.

A dedicated student of Buddhist master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, Gen Chitta holds the blessed lineage of Atisha and Je Tsongkhapa and can bring the inspiration and practices of this lineage into our busy, modern and often challenging lives and minds.

Everyone is welcome, beginners and experienced meditators alike. No special clothes are required and seating is provided in chairs and meditation cushions. There is free on street parking on the street just outside, easy access from the Westlink Divis St/ Millfield exit, and we are just 15 min walk from City Hall and the Europa Bus Centre.

Bring a vegetarian or vegan packed lunch or a dish to share in the lunch break, or pop out to frequent one of the many cafes in the Cathedral Quarter, just 7 mins walk away. Complimentary hot drinks and light snacks will be available throughout the day in the lounge area.
